OF COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE:
Creating Connections… Building Bridges… together
By: Ms. Chat Mañeja
PAS 1998 Secretary of the Year
Despite IT advancements that revolutionize our ways of doing things in the new millennium, EXCELLENCE as defined, remained basically the same with some ‘value-added’ propositions.
As we celebrate the 60 years anniversary of the PAS, we (its members) had expanded our ‘commitment to excellence’ to “Creating Connections….Building Bridges… together” and we will gear our actions towards this direction..
Intrinsically, EXCELLENCE is the relentless pursuit for outstanding performance. It calls for harnessing our full potential for our own personal advancement, committing ourselves to continuously surpass our standards, and thus, play an active role in ‘the engine of growth’ that spurs nation building and economic development.
Creating connections and building bridges together is the PAS’ mandate, aligning ourselves, taking the initiative, and playing with the team to synchronize our efforts together. Continued success in the global marketplace which is highly dependent on product positioning from technological standpoint, acuity, business acumen, and leadership styles of our company executives also requires our ability to ‘fill in’ to ‘connect’, meet and satisfy the ever-increasing and complex customer demands. In these, as administrative professionals, we aptly fit the role. Even if artificial intelligence (AI – sees as “the future” – takes ‘center stage’, human intervention would still be imperative to set it in motion. And, besides, the emotional aspect of things couldn’t be part of its being.
It is a fact that the combined synergy of technological advantage and sound financial backing does not ensure company success. A competent and excellent human resources that respond proactively to customer needs is certain not only to meet but also surpass company goals.
Presently, we thrive in a very ‘volatile’ and fast-paced world, demanding so much of our time and energy as globalization took place bringing both positive end results in our lives. Progress, though, had always a trade-off and how well we respond effectively to the needs of the time would determine our failure, success, and even our happiness (for that matter) in any undertaking.
Through the years, PAS has strongly and consistently supported, trained, and molded its members to attain and even surpass that level of effectiveness and efficiency expected of them by their superiors in support of their company’s overall objectives. Looking back, we had succeeded in that score and now look forward and beyond to a more promising and stable future for its members.
These healthy collaborative efforts among PAS officers and its members would continuously be sustained as it would augur well to our individual needs and those of the corporations we serve.<>/p
